At Lyons Davidson and File Dynamics our vision is to become the most people centered employer in the legal industry and we are looking for a Learning & Development Manager to join the team as a key player in achieving this vision.

Reporting directly to the Head of People & Culture, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of a proactive, digital and forward thinking L&D service that meets the needs of the business, whilst staying relevant to the mixed demographics of our people.

As a team we offer tons of support and plenty of opportunities for personal and professional development. We are looking for people with enthusiasm, experience in L&D or learning design and a keen interest in employee experience and engagement.

You will be part of a wider People Services team made up of Talent Acquisition and Resourcing, People Operations, Employee Relations and Business Partnering and will work in a large (c.500 employees) law firm based in Bristol.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with Senior Managers and the People Business Partners to understand the current and future L&D needs of the business and our people.
  • Creation of a digital L&D offering that allows our people to access relevant information and materials in an accessible and engaging format.
  • Project management of internal projects ensuring they are delivered on time and to budget, with support of the rest of the team.
  • Overseeing the apprenticeship programme, early careers advice and training budgets for the divisions.
  • Delivering the L&D elements of the firms Information Security plan.
  • Managing the L&D team (L&D Advisor and L&D Assistant) and any external suppliers ensuring a smooth and timely delivery of the service.
  • Building strong relationships with senior managers and the wider People Services team as well as leading or contributing to people vision projects.

Essential experience and skills

  • Experience of working in an L&D or an employee engagement role
  • Ability to build relationships by understanding the needs and drivers of others
  • Detailed understanding of the employee life cycle and employee experience
  • Must be resourceful and proactive
  • Microsoft Office and related tools
