Role Overview: The Laboratory Technician will support the Laboratory team in preparing, managing and testing of samples. This will include a high level of communication within the office and laboratory. This position will help to maximise the efficiency of the lab through tasks such as assisting with the artificial wear machines, preparing samples, testing lab samples, and working with the other technicians in managing the flow in and out of the laboratory. There will be an interface with the field-testing operations of the Company thus coordination, communication and teamwork will also be very important

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate within the ISO 17025 accreditation and the Company rules for health and safety and quality assurance/control.
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity and confidentiality when performing duties.
  • Test Site ID samples in the laboratory.
  • Assist with Booking in delivered samples when received in the quarantine area.
  • Cut/Prepare samples for the relative testing requirements.
  • Manage test samples in/out of the laboratory (sample storage before and after testing)
  • Keep Laboratory and sample storage areas clean and tidy.
  • Ensure all samples are referenced and stored in the correct location.
  • Take stock of materials in the store.
  • Keep samples on shelves tidy and any stored infill bags neat.
  • Keep Shockpads in groups and stored neatly without causing any damage to them.
  • Fill lab samples in prep room for testing.
  • Assist with refilling wear machines.
  • Assist Laboratory Technicians with other testing when required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents/specifications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Conscientious approach to meeting deadlines
