Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader (Senior Care Assistant) to join our team within a reputable care home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, supporting their daily needs, and supervising junior staff. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with leadership qualities and a passion for senior care to make a meaningful difference in residents' lives. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for assisting with personalised care plans, ensuring residents' comfort and safety, and fostering a warm and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, personalised care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans
- Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high standards of care
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and medication management
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and update care plans as required
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery
- Organise and participate in team meetings and training sessions to promote continuous improvement
- Support the organisation of activities that enhance residents' wellbeing and engagement
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Assist with administrative tasks using IT systems to record resident information and care documentation
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior care or working within a care home environment
- Supervising or leadership experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
- Driving licence is preferred but not essential; flexibility to support transport needs if required
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety procedures, and safeguarding policies
- IT literacy skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting older adults' wellbeing
- Ability to work as part of a team while demonstrating leadership qualities
