Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader (Senior Care Assistant) to join our team within a reputable care home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, supporting their daily needs, and supervising junior staff. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for assisting with personalised care plans, ensuring residents' comfort and safety, and fostering a warm and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate, personalised care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans
  • Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high standards of care
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and medication management
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and update care plans as required
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery
  • Organise and participate in team meetings and training sessions to promote continuous improvement
  • Support the organisation of activities that enhance residents' wellbeing and engagement
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
  • Assist with administrative tasks using IT systems to record resident information and care documentation

Requirements

  • Proven experience in senior care or working within a care home environment
  • Supervising or leadership experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
  • Driving licence is preferred but not essential; flexibility to support transport needs if required
  • Knowledge of care plans, health & safety procedures, and safeguarding policies
  • IT literacy skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting older adults' wellbeing
  • Ability to work as part of a team while demonstrating leadership qualities
