Job Alert: Qualified English Teacher – PRU – South East London
We are currently seeking a Qualified English Teacher to join one of our partnered PRUs (Pupil Referral Units) in South East London. This long term and full time role is available ASAP, offering an exceptional opportunity to make a real impact on young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and SEN (Special Educational Needs).
This is an exciting chance for a Qualified English Teacher who is passionate about transforming outcomes for students who may present challenging behaviour. The PRU is equipped with leading facilities, provides ongoing professional training, and offers clear career progression, making it a fantastic long term professional move.
Please only apply if you are a Qualified Teacher with English as a specialism and have experience working with SEMH and SEN learners in a PRU or similar setting.
Role Overview
As a Qualified English Teacher in a PRU in South East London, you will be part of a dynamic, supportive team committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive education. This long term position is ideal for someone looking to grow, develop, and make a lasting difference within the SEMH and SEN sector.
Daily Duties
- Deliver engaging English lessons tailored to SEMH and SEN learners
- Develop individual learning plans to support student progress
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using trauma-informed approaches
- Work collaboratively with pastoral and support teams within the PRU
- Track and assess student development, reporting progress regularly
- Adapt curriculum content to meet diverse needs and learning styles
- Provide a safe, nurturing environment that promotes emotional resilience
- Participate in regular staff meetings, CPD, and reflective practice sessions
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies where necessary
- Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment activities
