The role
We are seeking a commercially minded and ambitious lawyer to join our growing Competition team in London. This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate (2-5 years PQE) to work alongside leading practitioners on complex, high-value competition and regulatory matters.
You will be part of a team advising a diverse client base, from FTSE-listed companies and global brands to fast-growing disruptors, on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious competition law issues. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with broad experience across all aspects of competition law (including merger control, antitrust investigations, compliance advisory work and competition litigation).
Our Practice
Our Competition team operates from our London and Brussels offices, supporting our clients on UK and cross-border competition law matters, including multi-jurisdictional merger filings, cartel investigations, and regulatory appeals.
Our clients include numerous household name businesses across the firm's focus sectors (including financial services, technology, automotive, energy & infrastructure, and retail & consumer goods) and beyond.
We are well-regarded for supporting our clients on all aspects of competition law. In addition to being trusted advisors on antitrust compliance, in the past year alone we have acted for main parties involved in a major cartel investigation and a Phase 2 merger control review.
As a team, we collaborate closely with colleagues in our corporate, commercial, commercial litigation and regulatory teams, gaining exposure to high-profile mandates and direct client engagement.
Our team also handles the NSI Act aspects of corporate transactions.
What We Are Looking For
We're looking for someone with a strong grounding in UK (and/or EU) competition law. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Broad experience in antitrust advisory, merger control and investigations
- Good working knowledge of the NSI Act
- Confidence in client engagement and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for contributing to the team's business development
- Strong academic credentials and a genuine interest in competition law developments
