Position Summary

Due to continued growth, development, and fleet expansion, WRC is recruiting a 3.5 tonne Van Driver to join the team at our Renfrewshire-based depot, to assist with the delivery of L wheelie bins to customer sites, and undertake regular waste clearance jobs across Scotland. The team at WRC is expanding, and this is the perfect opportunity to join a growing workforce in a healthy and prosperous industry.

Job Description

A full-time, permanent position based at our recycling plant in Inchinnan, Renfrewshire. The Van Driver will assist with deliveries and collections across Scotland.

Duties

Whilst reporting to the Transport Manager you will:

  • Maintain vehicle checks
  • Communicate with your team to ensure swift and easy uplifts
  • Operate company vehicles to collect and move waste between designated points, following established schedules and routes.
  • Deliver a variety of bin stock to WRC customers across Scotland.
  • Ensure full compliance with Duty of Care regulations, including waste inspections, accurate completion of waste transfer notes, and proper sheeting of all loads to ensure they are secure during transport on public roads.
  • Assist with the regular site clearances
  • Resolve any customer questions or queries
  • Positively represent WRC by continuously following all company policies and procedures
  • Consistently delivering excellent customer service when carrying out all duties
  • Have a sound knowledge of local areas

Desired Qualifications and Skills

The successful candidate must have:

  • A full, clean driving license
  • A valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • Experience in the waste industry is desirable
  • A digital tachograph card
  • Excellent customer service skills
