Children's Residential Support Worker

Job Summary
Within our new Residential Children's Home, you will be expected to care and support each child and young person within the provision. Participating in their Care and Support Planning to include the Quality of Care being delivered, taking on board their Views, Wishes & Feelings, Education, Enjoying and Achieving, Health & Well-Being, building & maintaining Positive Relationships, Safeguarding & Protection of children and young people.
Main Purpose:
To have a clear understanding of the Children's Home Regulations 2015.
To ensure safeguarding of all children and young people, have excellent negotiation skills and an ability to handle sensitive issues.
To assist in carrying out specified activities/duties to meet the needs of our children and young people.
Maintain high professional standards within all work with children, young people, professionals, and families.
To adhere to Connections 2 Independence Policies and Procedures.
Complete and update children and young people's Risk Assessments and Care & Support Plans.
Offer a minimum of two planned support sessions a week,
Support children and young people in building confidence and self-esteem.
Ensure accurate daily recordings are completed.
Ensure your children and young people's information is up to date and current.
Review your children and young people's trigger plan (if generated by a Social Worker) to ensure the safety and security of them.
Answer all incoming calls and emails pass through to the relevant persons.
To participate in training, events and team meetings as required
To participate in regular individual supervisions with Residential Co-Ordinator.
Manage and keep up to date with your children and young people's appointments and add them to the calendar as well as their weekly timetables.
Complete monthly reports relating to your allocated children and young people which will be sent directly to their social worker and any other professionals involved in their care and support.
Complete weekly timetables and goals to develop your children and young people's outcomes to benefit their prospects.
To work co-operatively and collaboratively with staff from other statutory and voluntary agencies in developing working partnerships.
To promote a positive image of Connections 2 Independence through professional operation and conduct when dealing with members of the public, young people, and staff members.
We provide care and support for vulnerable children and young people, which may include working irregular shifts, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Take responsibility for completing Mandatory Training and other relevant training, as identified in discussion with the Residential Co-Ordinator.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
To undertake other duties as required to ensure the professional running of the organisation.
Complete requested tasks by the Team Leader, Residential Manager and Managing Director.
Ensuing the home and external grounds are clean, tidy, safe, and secure.
Ensuring Health and Safety Checks are completed.
Person Specification:
Experience of working in a range of settings with vulnerable children and young people.
Demonstrable commitment by recognising and valuing children and young people's achievements in a range of learning styles.
Evidence of commitment to Personal Professional Development.
Experience of working on your own initiative and within a team.
Understanding and promoting Equal Opportunities to all staff children, young people, and professionals.
Applicant requires to take part in an Enhanced Criminal Record check / DBS.
Driving Licence and access to own transport including business insurance.
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to children and young people empowerment and reintegration.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
