About the Role

An exciting new food and culture brand is preparing to launch in Birmingham — and we're looking for a
proactive and highly organised assistant to join us from behind the scenes.

This pre-launch role is ideal for someone who knows and loves Birmingham, has a passion for food and hospitality, and thrives in a flexible, fast-paced environment. You'll be working closely with the founder to help shape routes, connect with venues, support content and planning and assist with launch operations.

This role will evolve quickly as we expand nationally, offering potential for growth into operations, city lead, or content/marketing roles.

We're Looking for Someone Who Is:

  • Based in Birmingham with strong local knowledge
  • Energetic, proactive, and hands-on — a do-er, not just a planner
  • Organised and tech-comfortable
  • Aware of or open to using AI tools to help with tasks
  • Passionate about food, culture, local storytelling, and hospitality
  • A strong communicator — polite, confident, and professional with both team and partners
  • Comfortable working independently and reporting progress clearly
  • Physically able to get out and about and carry light materials

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage portfolios
  • Contact businesses via email and phone
  • Track business progress and agreements
  • Assist in planning
  • Collect and organise content (photos/videos) for marketing
  • Help manage email inboxes, basic calendar tasks, and shared folders
  • Use or assist with basic AI tools to improve workflows or content
  • Help prepare launch and ongoing materials
  • Represent the brand when visiting venues or assisting with test tours

Remote Work & In-Person Expectations

  • This is primarily a remote role, but in-person work is required as and when the business requires
  • In-person tasks are non-negotiable and considered business-critical including in-person check-ins will take place as needed
  • You must be able to show proof of work during core working hours (updates, task completion, shared file management, etc.)
  • A probation period will apply
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required — we operate fairly and will rotate responsibilities where possible

Bonus If You Have:

  • Experience in events, tourism and or hospitality
  • Familiarity with Birmingham's food & drink scene
  • Comfort using social media tools
