Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shift Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children, and leading a team of childcare professionals. The Shift Leader will play a crucial role in fostering positive relationships with both staff and families while maintaining high standards of care.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of childcare staff during assigned shifts, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Create and maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for children in our care.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
  • Monitor the well-being of children, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records related to attendance, incidents, and daily activities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress and any relevant updates.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as organisational policies.
  • Assist in training new staff members, providing guidance on best practices in childcare.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a management or leadership role within a childcare setting is essential.
  • Background in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with children in various capacities, such as nursery or daycare settings.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and staff alike.
  • Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills are an advantage.
