Oban, Argyll and Bute, United Kingdom M Group Telecom Full time

M Group
Right across infrastructure, there's a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you're at in your career; with us you'll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

Where will you be working?
M Group Telecom
At M Group Telecom, we're enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future.

We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators.

This role will be within our
Fixed networks team,
you'll join our people who support providing turnkey solutions for the surveying, designing, building and commissioning new networks, while supporting the repair, maintenance and operation of existing networks.

Want to come and be a part of it?

What will you be doing?
We're looking for a hands-on Supervisor to lead our teams not just working on the Openreach contract but Virgin Media also. This is a key role where you'll help us deliver high-quality telecoms work across the region. You'll be out in the field, making sure everything runs smoothly, safely and on time.

You'll work closely with our crews and make sure they have what they need to get the job done. You'll check the work, solve problems and keep things moving. You'll also be the link between our teams and the client, so clear communication is vital.

This role is all about action. You'll be planning, checking, guiding and improving. You'll help us meet targets and keep standards high. You'll also support your team, helping them grow and succeed.

We work mainly with Openreach, so you'll be part of a long-term contract with a trusted name in telecoms. You'll be joining a company that values hard work, fairness and doing things right.

If you've got experience in telecoms, know how to lead a team and want to make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll bring?
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current and comprehensive NRSWA Supervisor Street Works qualification, encompassing Units 10 through 16, as a baseline requirement for overseeing works in the public highway. In addition, accreditation under the Smart Awards framework—specifically the Network Operative Passport Scheme (NOPS)—is essential, reflecting the technical and safety competencies expected in this role. Possession of Passive Infrastructure Access (PIA) certification is considered advantageous, particularly for candidates with experience in Openreach environments.

A full UK driving licence, held for a minimum of twelve months and with no more than six penalty points, is mandatory due to the mobile nature of the role and the geographic spread of operational sites.

Familiarity with Openreach infrastructure, including Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) and Hybrid Fibre-Coaxial (HFC) networks, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a robust understanding of telecommunications engineering, with particular emphasis on underground civil engineering and cable installation methodologies.

A strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation, risk assessment procedures, and local authority permitting processes is essential. The role demands a high level of operational awareness, regulatory compliance, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments with professionalism and precision.

What's in it for you?
We offer a range of benefits designed to support your life in and out of work, some of which include.

  • Matched or contributory pension scheme
  • Online GP service, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
  • Employee assistance programme
  • My Rewards portal, access to 1000's of retail discounts
  • Life assurance
  • Cycle to work, salary finance and give as you earn schemes
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity leave and adoption leave
  • Reward and recognition scheme

In addition, this role offers.

  • Company van/vehicle and fuel card for business use
  • Health Care Cash Plan, giving you the ability to claim back medical expenses for things like dental, eyecare and physiotherapy and much more
  • Discretionary bonus scheme
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
