Duties

  • Efficiently wash pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper techniques to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sinks, dishwashing stations, and storage spaces.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, or portioning supplies under supervision.
  • Support the kitchen team by restocking supplies, organizing ingredients, and ensuring all food handling procedures meet safety standards.
  • Help with meal preparation by preparing ingredients or assembling simple dishes as directed by chefs or kitchen managers.
  • Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Dispose of waste properly and maintain recycling procedures to promote an environmentally friendly kitchen.
  • Support catering events or special functions by assisting with setup, serving, or cleanup as needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines during daily operations to create a safe working environment for everyone.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of food handling procedures and safety standards in a professional kitchen setting.
  • Basic cooking skills with the ability to assist in meal preparation when required.
  • Proficiency in knife skills for chopping, slicing, and preparing ingredients efficiently and safely.
  • Experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable; familiarity with the food industry enhances your ability to thrive in this role.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance is a plus.
