Senior Strategic Programme Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a highly capable Strategic Initiatives Programme Manager to join our team on a freelance basis for a minimum of 3 months to work for one of Bernadette's biggest clients.

This role is designed for a strategically minded individual with a strong programme management and delivery experience. You will be the central pivot, translating strategic vision into tangible, cross-functional delivery plans and coordinating the successful rollout of new initiatives across the business.

Your core function will be to facilitate, plan, and govern the execution of strategic initiatives. You'll need to think critically about the complexities of rolling out new propositions across multiple customer touch points that are managed by different teams, ensuring a single source of truth for delivery, representing the strategic owners of new initiatives.

A deep understanding of the strategic process and familiarity with traditional product management processes are essential, given the digital nature of the solutions. Key to success will be your ability to bridge strategy and execution, managing dependencies and proactively unblocking delivery pipelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Programme Planning & Coordination

• Create and maintain proposition delivery plans for key initiatives, defining scope, milestones, and required inputs from partner teams.
• Facilitate cross-team/cross-channel delivery & rollout planning activities to ensure all activities that are dependencies for propositions to be tested and rolled out to customers are accounted for, owning a single source of truth for all delivery tracking.
• Lead problem-solving discussions to proactively identify, manage, and unblock delivery pipelines where possible, ensuring momentum is maintained.
• Manage and coordinate customer and product research/experimentation plans with internal teams (e.g., Data Science, Research), ensuring insights effectively inform the phased rollout

Cross-Functional Leadership & Strategy Alignment

• Act as the central nexus for cross-functional teams (Product, Technology, Marketing, Operations, Commercial, etc.) to align on scope, timing, and risks for initiative rollouts.
• Translate high-level strategic visions and roadmaps into clearly defined, actionable programme plans with defined phases (e.g., Alpha, Beta, Pilot, Full Launch).
• Develop compelling narratives and presentations from complex findings and delivery updates for senior stakeholders and governance forums.
• Facilitate internal and client workshops focused on delivery alignment, dependency management, and prioritisation.

EXPERIENCE & CAPABILITIES:

• A significant numer of years' commercial experience in a similar role focused on programme management, product delivery, or strategic rollout
• A proven track record of translating strategy into successful, complex cross-functional programme delivery and launch.
• Experience in Digital Product Management or Service Design, with a solid grasp of the commercial impact of digital solutions.
• High Data literacy and experience working with and briefing data analysts to inform delivery progress, business cases, and experimentation plans.
