Trainee Fire and Security Engineer

We are an Intruder, Fire, Access, CCTV, Gate and Barrier installation company based in Cardiff. Due to continuous and steady growth we are looking to expand our team and are accepting applications from suitable candidates. We are currently considering applicants with little or no experience who are interested in developing their knowledge and skills further within the trade and who will work towards becoming a security engineer.
We operate within a laid back, mutually supportive environment with a strong emphasis of professionalism towards our customers.
Suitable candidates should have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Confidence to work individually or within a team with a focus on customer service and quality. Experience within the security equipment industry is not nececessary, however a minimum of 1 years experience working or studying with electrical circuits and/or electronics is required. GCSE's or equivalent in Maths and Physics would be useful.
The role will involve assisting engineers with the installation, maintenance and repair of all aspects of security equipment while gaining the knowledge and skills required to carry out these works alone.
All necessary training will be supplied. Candidates may be enrolled to achieve a City&Guilds/NVQ qualification in the relevant field.
Company van, laptop and phone will be supplied if and when the candidate is suitably competent to carry out work unsupervised as well as the inclusion into the existing 24 hour call out rota when the candidates experience is sufficient.
30 days paid annual leave.
Salaries are fixed and although some flexibility in working hours is expected during the week, overtime is generally kept to a minimum. Sufficient overtime worked is rewarded by paid leave or bonuses.
Occasional overnight trips may also be required with all expenses covered by the company.
Candidates invited for an interview may be expected to carry out an informal exam to demonstrate ability or knowledge of basic electrical principles.
Successful applicants will also be subject to a criminal CRB check.
