Barr Joinery and Barr Kitchens manufacture exceptional design-led cabinetry for high-end residential and commercial projects and are currently searching for an experienced Cabinetry Designer & Project Manager to join their close-knit project team.

The role:

This key role involves surveying, designing, and delivering bespoke cabinetry and kitchen commissions – working with main contractors, architects, interior designers and private clients. Although a varied role, your work would be focused on taking a project from conception to completion, producing creative and accurate cabinetry drawings to the highest level of detail, working with our highly skilled workshop and installation teams.

  • Communicating (written and verbal), within the team, and between the organisation and all stakeholders (clients, subcontractors, supplies)– to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Evaluating and responding to the needs of customers and the management team.
  • Translating a brief or a concept design into working drawings.
  • Delivering creative full detailed cabinetry drawings (experience & proficiency using SketchUp is essential) with speed and accuracy.
  • Taking responsibility for your own task lists, time and diary management.
  • Overseeing the delivery and installation of multiple cabinetry projects across multiple locations, site presence will be essential at times during installation.
  • Snagging and critiquing work, implementing improved processes, and raising issues with the wider team when appropriate.
  • The ability to monitor and control profit margin on projects, tracking all outgoings, optimising all procurement for responsible and best practice purchasing.
  • Supporting the director and wider team as appropriate.
