Job Title: Head of Private Markets Methodologies Research & Design
 

The Team:

The Private Markets Methodologies and Research function is responsible for reviewing, developing, and maintaining robust private valuation and risk models and methodologies across private market & assessments (PMA) products. The team conducts high-level research into valuation and risk models, integrates new data inputs, and ensures compliance with evolving regulatory standards. It is pivotal in developing innovative SPGI products across private markets and delivering reliable and independent analyses that meet the scrutiny of auditors, regulators, and investors.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Lead PMA research, design, and development of new models & methodologies in line with evolving business and regulatory requirements in collaboration with key internal stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement the PMA model and methodology risk management framework.

  • Maintain PMA models and methodology inventory, ensuring its accuracy and relevance.

  • Investigate new inputs to enhance valuation methodologies and create new data and analytics products.

  • Serve as the PMA Models & Methodologies steering committee secretary.

  • Support product development and technology teams in implementing models on strategic platforms.

  • Develop internal PMA Models & Methodologies MI, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as the number of new models and methodologies launched.

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics, or a related field; Ph.D. preferred.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in valuation of illiquid assets, quantitative modeling, private markets, investment analysis, or related fields.

  • Strong knowledge of private and/or illiquid assets valuation methodologies and familiarity with SPGI datasets and products, including derivatives.

  • Proven experience in managing teams across multiple geographies.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand key market and operational drivers in valuation and risk regulation and private markets.

  • Ability to oversee multiple workstreams and deliver to defined schedules.

  • Proactive business leader with exceptional energy, drive, and stamina.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong team player, flexible, and able to adapt to changing situations.
