ABOUT THE ROLE
We are excited to offer a rewarding opportunity to join our ICT Network and Telephony team, as an ICT Senior Network and Telephony Engineer. This role ensures the smooth operation and reliability of the council's network – which underpins the ICT infrastructure, systems, and applications we deliver.
You will work closely with the Network and Telephony Manager, project managers, third-party experts, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
A key part of the role will be resolving complex issues escalated by other ICT support teams and designing, implementing, and maintaining robust Network and Telephony solutions that align with the council's strategic goals. This includes proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and ensuring systems meet evolving business requirements.
Your role will include collaborating with project managers to ensure successful project delivery in both the network and telephony arena.
You will play an important part in helping ensure that the Council's buildings remain connected and staff are able to communicate via voice and other channels.
If you have an eye for detail, a proactive approach, and a passion for supporting people as well as network technology, we'd love to hear from you.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-focused, and comfortable working with both technology and people. You will also:
- Bring technical proficiency, with expertise in one or more specialisations, including Network and Telephony products.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in applying tools and procedures to deliver high-quality services.
- Show strong analytical and planning skills, with the ability to assess risks, document processes, and manage workloads to meet deadlines while resolving conflicts.
- Adopt a customer-focused mindset, using feedback to enhance service delivery and consistently advocating for excellent customer care.
- Communicate effectively, conveying complex or technical information clearly and making sound decisions even in uncertain situations.
- Contribute to a team-oriented culture, sharing knowledge, motivating peers, and promoting team success both internally and externally.
- Embrace adaptability and resilience, responding to change and challenges while maintaining professionalism in dynamic environments.
- Commit to continuous learning, fostering growth for yourself, your team, and the wider organisation.
