Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plasterer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of various masonry and finishing techniques, along with the ability to work efficiently within a team environment. The ideal applicant will possess a good eye for detail, excellent manual dexterity, and experience working with a range of tools and materials.

Duties

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying necessary primers or bonding agents.
  • Mix plaster to the correct consistency using hand or power tools.
  • Apply plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using trowels, hawks, and other hand tools.
  • Utilise bricklaying skills for specialised applications where necessary.
  • Operate power tools such as mixers, drills, and saws safely and effectively.
  • Perform masonry work including laying bricks or blocks when required.
  • Assist with carpentry tasks related to plastering projects, such as installing frameworks or supports.
  • Conduct roofing or welding tasks if project demands arise.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople including masons, carpenters, and roofers to ensure seamless project execution.

Experience

  • Proven experience in plastering or related trades such as bricklaying or masonry is essential.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in plastering work.
  • Knowledge of carpentry, roofing, welding, and general construction techniques is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Prior experience working on both interior and exterior surfaces is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes. Candidates should demonstrate reliability, good organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: £14.63-£22.49 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
