Role The Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of new features and product enhancements by driving clear, detailed requirements gathering and cross-functional alignment. Reporting to the Director of Release Management, this role is engaged once a Product Manager or Product Owner initiates the requirements phase for a feature or product. The Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting and documenting detailed requirements through interviews and discussions with both internal and external stakeholders. This includes translating business needs into well-structured user stories, specifications, and acceptance criteria. The role requires a strong understanding of feature goals and product vision in order to identify and analyze key use cases and workflows. Working closely with Product Owners, UI/UX designers, developers, and engineers, the Business Analyst helps shape workflow and design requirements, ensuring that all relevant perspectives—including cross-functional dependencies—are incorporated. The role also collaborates with customer-facing teams and clients to ensure requirements reflect real-world needs and that product designs support both user experience and operational objectives. Throughout the development cycle, the Business Analyst facilitates ongoing feedback loops by conducting demonstrations and review sessions with stakeholders, enabling timely input and alignment as features evolve. Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed requirements-gathering activities once features or products enter the requirements phase, partnering closely with Product Managers and Product Owners
  • Interview internal and external stakeholders to elicit, clarify, and validate requirements
  • Translate business needs into clear user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria
  • Develop a strong understanding of feature objectives and product vision to identify, outline, and investigate key use cases
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers, developers, engineers, and other technical teams to define workflow, design, and technical requirements
  •  Work with cross-functional partners—including Customer Success, Compliance, Sales, and Operations—to ensure enterprise-wide considerations are reflected in requirements
  • Analyze feedback, issues, and client insights to inform product improvements and resolve requirement-related questions
  • Support the prioritization and refinement of the product backlog by providing clarity on requirements, dependencies, and potential impacts
  • Participate in design discussions, requirement walkthroughs, and sprint planning or refinement sessions as needed
  • Facilitate periodic demonstrations of features to stakeholders for feedback, validation, and alignment
  • Maintain accurate, organized documentation throughout the requirements lifecycle
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of requirements-gathering processes, templates, and standards
  • Assist with investigations and root-cause analysis when requirement-related issues arise
  • Perform additional duties, assignments, or project-based work as required to support evolving business and product needs
Skills and Experience
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to break down complex issues into clear, actionable requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit, clarify, and validate requirements through stakeholder interviews and collaborative discussions
  • Ability to understand software application concepts, multi-step workflows, and user experience considerations
  • Proven capacity to investigate issues, identify root causes, and synthesize findings into structured documentation or recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a structured, fast-paced process
  • Effective collaborator who works well across Product, Engineering, UI/UX, Customer Success, and other cross-functional teams
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to completing tasks thoroughly and accurately
  • Proficiency with standard business and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in a business analysis, product analysis, operations analysis, or similar requirements-focused role
  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements, including user stories, specifications, or acceptance criteria
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders or clients to understand needs, clarify objectives, or support solution design
  • Passion for problem-solving and client management, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes
  • Familiarity with software development processes, product lifecycle concepts, or agile methodologies
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce clear, organized, and accurate documentation
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly and apply them effectively
  • Experience in financial services or regulatory technology is preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
