Harmonic are partnered with an innovative technology SME that's looking to bring on board a Management Accountant based in their South East Manchester office for a 6-8 month fixed term contract.

With a team of circa 100, the business operates an online platform that has seen consistent revenue growth in recent years and strong profitability levels. The business have embraced a hybrid working culture that values both flexibility and team connection.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will play a key role in supporting the core finance operations and month end.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Financial Controller by leading the month-end close end process including accruals and pre-payments.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and profit & loss statements for internal reporting.
  • Support budgeting processes and monitor departmental spending to ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Conduct forecasting and variance analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely data entry for day-to-day accounting tasks.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, demonstrating flexibility in both transactional and strategic finance activities.

What we're looking for (essential):

  • Qualified by experience or Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working in a similar role with exposure to management accounts

What we'd like to see (non-essential):

  • Experience in an SME environment
  • Xero experience
