HGV Technician – Full-Time, Permanent Position

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and dependable HGV Technician to join our growing maintenance team. If you have solid experience in heavy vehicle diagnostics and repairs, and you're seeking a long-term role within a supportive, family-run business, this position offers excellent stability and career progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of HGVs in line with VOSA standards
  • Prepare and present vehicles for MOT testing, ensuring full compliance with regulations
  • Carry out scheduled servicing and reactive maintenance across the fleet
  • Replace essential components such as tyres, batteries, and brakes
  • Identify and resolve minor mechanical and electrical faults
  • Complete all service paperwork and checklists accurately and efficiently
  • Assist with roadside breakdowns and take part in call-out rota duties when required
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop
  • Manage workload effectively and make sound technical decisions independently
  • Work collaboratively with workshop colleagues to support smooth daily operations

About You

  • Proven background as an HGV Technician or in a comparable role
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic and repair abilities
  • Comfortable working on a variety of HGV makes and models
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and well-organised
  • Own tools preferred
