Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle Technician to join our team in our very busy family run workshop. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in equipment repair, ensuring that all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. This role requires a commitment to customer service, as you will be interacting with clients to understand their vehicle needs and provide effective solutions.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics of vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, vehice servicing, tyre replacement, braking components, suspension, timing belt replacement, clutches etc.
  • Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and assembly of vehicle components.
  • Repair or replace defective parts using schematics and technical manuals as guides.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required during the repair process.

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Familiarity with equipment repair techniques and the ability to work with various hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics for effective troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating professionalism in client interactions.
  • Willingness to perform heavy lifting as part of the job requirements.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Own tools are required.
