Quality Assurance Officer

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to join our team. This is a key role providing coordination, data management, and administrative support to ensure compliance with Quality and Clinical Governance standards across the organisation.
You will work closely with the Head of Quality and wider clinical teams to support audits, manage governance processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Purpose:
To support the delivery of high-quality patient care by coordinating Quality Assurance and Clinical Governance activities. You'll manage data, assist with audits, handle complaints, and ensure compliance with governance standards, helping us maintain excellence across all services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise and provide secretarial support for Clinical Governance meetings, including agendas, minutes, and action logs.
- Monitor and maintain complaints and significant events logs, supporting investigations and reporting.
- Collate and analyse patient experience feedback, presenting monthly reports.
- Assist with audits and data compilation for the clinical and quality audit cycle.
- Act as the Information Governance administrator, managing Subject Access Requests and FOI requests.
- Support policy reviews, updates, and documentation of Quality SOPs.
- Liaise with HR to provide documentation for clinician appraisals
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in quality assurance or quality control roles, ideally within healthcare or clinical settings.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
- Experience conducting clinical audits, assessments, and quality reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor quality assurance processes and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify areas for improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately.
- Proficient in using quality assurance tools and software to track and report findings.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of safety and risk management protocols within a clinical environment.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- A relevant qualification in healthcare, clinical management, or quality assurance.
- Experience working with regulatory bodies and preparing for audits and inspections.
- Experience in staff training and development related to quality assurance and safety standards.
- Knowledge of patient-centered care principles and how they relate to quality improvement.
- Familiarity with healthcare management systems and data analytics tools.
- Understanding of patient safety initiatives and their integration into everyday clinical practice.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within quality assurance or clinical services.
