People Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a People Manager to join a fast-paced, growing, customer-service based business based in Chorley. This is a true generalist role where you will report into the MD and lead a small high-performing team on the following:
- Creating and delivering the people plan, ensuring this is in line with the wider business strategy
- Working with the broader business to ensure the organisation structure is effective
- Ensuring the business attracts the right talent – raising the employer brand and enhancing the candidate experience as well as advising on appropriate sourcing strategies
- Working with Managers to ensure the effective delivery of new starter training and inductions to enhance early retention
- Driving the company-wide engagement strategy
- Identifying learning needs and advising on / facilitating appropriate learning solutions
- Establishing a set of user-friendly people metrics
- Managing the HR budget
- Continually reviewing all HR policies and processes, identifying areas for improvement
The successful candidate for this role will demonstrate passion and creativity in their work as well as the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels. Previous experience at the People Manager / Head of People level is also essential. If you have worked in a customer-service based business this is ideal but not essential.
Please note this is a hybrid role with a presence in the Chorley office being required 2 days per week.
