Fernite is a long-established Machine Knife manufacturing company, who operate in multiple niche markets, working to exacting standards of quality and performance using a mix of traditional skills and state of the art CNC equipment. Fernite group also design and build Blackfriars Granulator machines for the recycling industry and other bespoke applications

We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Fernite of Sheffield to repair and maintain existing machines, assist in build and refurbishment of granulator machines.

Fernite have a program of improvement and have invested considerably in new machinery over the last few years, but are also modernizing legacy equipment.

Working days, the ideal candidates will have both electrical and mechanical skills with experience in the engineering industry.

Tasks

To fault find, repair, maintain and improve electrical and mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment, including CNC/PLC/HMI and conventional machine tools and process equipment across site.

Work with engineers on site to assist with refurbishment, automation and rebuild of existing or new machinery.

Work with production to introduce routine and operator maintenance.

Essential personal attributes:

Recognised Engineering Qualifications

Time served apprenticeship or relevant industry experience

Basic mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and power transmission

Comply with all relevant regulations and safety procedures.

Maintain regulatory equipment for insurance inspection. Support the process to ensure that all inspections are carried out at set intervals.

Team player

Promote a Culture of safe working and continual improvement

Able to work under own initiative when required.

Analytical approach to problem solving.

Desired knowledge/experience:

PLC Programing

FLT/Cherry picker license/working at height experience, but training will be provided for the correct candidate

Lifting and Slinging

Machine Moving

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £37,400.00-£41,600.00 per year
