We're looking for two talented placement students to join our Commercial Department for an exciting 12-month placement. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience, develop new skills, and make a real impact at Warburtons.

We have two placement roles, one supporting the Innovation Marketing team and Category Development team where you will learn how we take consumer trends and insight along with our customer opportunities and needs to build winning plans to grow both Warburtons and the Bakery category sales.

The other is supporting our Sales and Supply teams working to ensure our products have great availability and you will get a great understanding of managing a complex fresh supply chain and building customer relationships.

The Role

As a placement student in our Commercial Department, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist the teams with the development and implementation of ongoing projects, liaising with contacts, both within Warburtons and external service providers as appropriate.

  • Working alongside the innovation team to support the product development process from concept generation through to launch and post-implementation review.

  • Working with the Category team to support how our products are displayed in store to maximise sales

  • Build knowledge and understanding of consumer, shopper & market data sources, e.g. Nielsen, Vypr, IGD Analysis in order to enable greater market understanding across the teams, helping with reports and analysis.

  • Analysing daily supply chain data to produce and communicate updates to internal and customer stakeholders.

Essential Ingredients

To join our Commercial Undergraduate Programme, you'll need to be on track for a degree in a business-related subject (Business, Economics, Marketing, HR) and bring:

  • Quick learning ability and strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Analytical and reporting capability
  • Self-motivation, adaptability, and resilience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient IT skills (Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of Power BI, Canva, and AI tools is a bonus
  • Ability to manage small projects and interpret market data
  • Future-focused mindset with interest in emerging technologies
  • A valid driving licence
