About This Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to start a hands-on career in property maintenance as an Apprentice Minor Repairs Operative, gaining a recognised Level 2 trade qualification while supporting a high-quality repairs service across many properties.

As an Apprentice Minor Repairs Operative, you will join their (Christian Action Housing Association, [CAHA]) property services team and gain hands-on skills in maintaining safe and comfortable homes while working towards a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification in a trade such as plumbing, plastering, painting and decorating, or joinery.

During Your Apprenticeship You Will

  • Learn practical skills by shadowing experienced colleagues and assisting with everyday repair tasks
  • Help to keep homes and communal areas safe, secure, and in good condition
  • Attend training sessions, complete coursework, and take part in regular progress reviews
  • Communicate professionally with tenants and colleagues
  • Follow health and safety guidance, including the correct use of equipment and protective clothing
  • Keep basic records of the work you have done and what you have learned

You will receive regular support from a workplace supervisor and access to both on-the-job training and external learning through a training provider.

What you should have to apply

  • Minimum of Level 1/GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
  • Basic IT or digital skills – able to use email, online learning platforms, and simple record-keeping tools
  • Health and safety awareness – any basic training or certification is a plus (e.g., CSCS card, manual handling)
