Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a compassionate approach to senior care. This role involves supervising care staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality personalised care, and maintaining effective communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital part in promoting a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for our residents.
Duties
- Lead and supervise care staff to ensure the delivery of excellent senior care in accordance with individual care plans
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and meal preparation
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families
- Monitor residents' wellbeing and report any changes or concerns promptly
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and resident progress using IT systems
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
- Support residents' emotional wellbeing by engaging in meaningful activities and fostering social interaction
- Drive organisational initiatives to improve service quality and resident satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care or within a care home environment, with supervising experience preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans digitally
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting residents or attending external appointments
- Knowledge of care planning processes and adherence to regulatory standards in senior care settings
