Blackshaw Nursery offers full and part-time childcare services to the children of St. George's Hospital staff and the local community for children aged 1-5 years.. The nursery is situated in Tooting, London. Our opening hours are 7am-6pm . Blackshaw Nursery is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children. Our experienced team ensures each child receives the highest quality care and education.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role. Staff are required to work shifts, which rotate on a weekly basis. The Childcare Practitioner will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children in a group setting. Daily tasks include planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, ensuring health and safety standards, and promoting children's physical, emotional, and social development. The Childcare Practitioner will also engage with parents and caregivers to support their child's development and maintain accurate records of each child's progress. The starting salary is £25,532 pa, annual leave is 22 days a year, rising to 25 after 5 years, plus bank holidays. The nursery pays 3% employers contribution towards your pension. The nursery is closed 2 days a year for staff training.

Qualifications

  • Experience in early childhood education and child development
  • Strong understanding of health and safety standards in childcare settings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities
  • Relevant childcare qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3)
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • First Aid training is essential if qualified since 2016.
