Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in their own homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in home care or care homes, and possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and their families. This role requires a proactive approach to assisting with daily living activities, ensuring that care plans are followed, and fostering a safe and comfortable environment for those in our care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Support clients in following their individual care plans, ensuring that all needs are met with dignity and respect.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in condition, reporting back to the care team as necessary.
  • Engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities to promote mental well-being and social interaction.
  • Ensure the home environment is clean, safe, and conducive to the client's comfort.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes effectively.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • A valid driving licence is essential for this role unless can walk
  • Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and communication is advantageous.
  • A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others is crucial.
