Divisional Financial Lead

This role leads core financial operations with an opportunity to shape strategy, unlock growth, and deliver commercial insight. You'll partner closely with senior stakeholders across the business, ensuring financial activity aligns with wider priorities and drives performance. With full oversight of financial systems, team leadership, and direct involvement in decision-making, you'll influence how finance supports operational and strategic goals. The remit includes margin optimisation, cost control, and regulatory compliance—balanced with autonomy, visibility, and the opportunity to redefine how finance enables growth.
Responsibilities:
- Spearheading the design and execution of financial strategy, including resource allocation and future planning.
- Shaping financial strategy to unlock growth opportunities, optimise resource deployment, and support long-term commercial objectives.
- Delivering high-impact financial insights that influence investment decisions, margin improvement, and strategic planning across the division.
- Driving operational efficiency and cost optimisation, with a sharp focus on identifying value levers and enhancing profitability.
- Partnering cross-functionally with procurement, logistics, and leadership teams to strengthen supplier terms and improve financial outcomes.
- Building a future-ready finance function, embedding robust controls, scalable infrastructure, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Managing the delivery of timely and reliable financial data to support operational oversight.
- Tracking liquidity, asset utilisation, and overall financial health to enhance margin performance.
- Interpreting financial trends and metrics to inform commercial decisions and long-term planning.
- Guaranteeing fulfilment of statutory obligations and maintaining robust internal audit procedures.
- Establishing preventative measures to mitigate financial exposure and protect organisational value.
- Acting as the primary contact for auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory institutions.
- Reviewing operational spend to uncover efficiency gains and reduce overheads.
- Enhancing the effectiveness of financial infrastructure, reporting accuracy, and control mechanisms.
- Partnering with procurement and logistics teams to optimise supplier agreements and financial terms.
- Building a high-performing finance function through leadership, coaching, and capability development.
- Working closely with executive leadership to ensure financial direction supports strategic goals.
- Delivering actionable financial intelligence to guide growth plans and investment priorities.
The right person for the role:
Will be ACCA, ACA or CIMA Qualified with extensive experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment with the ability to lead a team and provide strategic oversight , whilst still being hands on and constantly looking at ways to improve processes and improve performance.
