HGV Depot Manager

Location: Manchester

Salary: Up to £65,000 + Bonus Scheme + company car

Contract: Permanent

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Depot Manager to join a well-established commercial vehicle operation based in Manchester. This is a key leadership role overseeing a large, fast-paced depot and a team of around 70 staff across workshop, admin, service, and operational departments.

As the HGV Depot Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the site runs smoothly day-to-day, maintaining high standards of customer service, staff performance, compliance, and commercial results. You'll work closely with technicians, support teams and senior management to drive the depot forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and support a team of approximately 70 employees
  • Oversee workshop performance, technician productivity and overall efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with industry legislation and company standards
  • Manage budgets, KPIs, cost control and commercial performance
  • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams
  • Ensure a positive working culture and high levels of staff engagement
  • Drive continuous improvement across all depot functions

About You:

  • Previous management experience within a dealership is a must
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide large teams
  • Confident managing budgets, operational performance and customer service
  • Good understanding of industry processes, compliance and workshop standards
  • IT literate, with a strong grasp of MS Office and modern depot systems
