We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Trainee to join our dynamic finance team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in financial analysis, reporting, and administration within a professional environment.

The successful candidate will support various financial operations, develop essential skills, and contribute to the organisation's financial health. A keen interest in finance, experience of working in and office environment and strong organisational skills are desirable qualities for this role.

Finance experience is not essential as full training will be given. Candidates who can demonstrate office experience with some finance involvement, or studying towards AAT would be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely posting of all supplier invoices into the financial system.
  • Prepare and raise sales invoices in accordance with company policies.
  • Record and process all sales receipts accurately in the finance system.
  • Reconcile and post credit card statements for all company accounts.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately matched and recorded.
  • Respond to and resolve any customer or supplier queries regarding invoices, payments, or account issues.
  • Assist with the posting of weekly and monthly journal entries as part of the regular accounting processes.
  • Assist in sending out reminders to customers for outstanding invoices.
  • Support the finance team with month-end close activities, including preparing reports and reconciliation tasks.
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts by gathering relevant data
  • Participate in audits by providing necessary documentation and information as required
  • Collaborate with team members on various administrative tasks related to finance operations

Experience

  • Prior experience in finance or accounting is not essential but advantageous

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills within a professional setting
