We specialise in supporting vulnerable young people who may have experienced trauma and may present challenging behaviours. Job Role:

As a Support Worker, you will work directly with children/young people and their families, helping them through daily activities, providing emotional support, and implementing individual care plans. You will be part of a supportive team, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, fostering trust and respect, and managing challenging behaviours with empathy and understanding.

Role and Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing day-to-day support, including assisting with routines and engaging in recreational activities.
  • Building trust-based relationships with young people, serving as a positive role model.
  • Managing challenging behaviours calmly and effectively, using de-escalation techniques
  • Collaborating with other team members and professionals to create supportive care plans
  • Maintaining a safe, stable, and positive living environment
  • Documenting and reporting incidents and progress accurately
  • Provide consistent emotional support to help young people cope with any trauma, loss or behavioural challenges.
  • Ensuring the safety of young people at all times.
  • Help young people and their families develop healthy coping mechanisms, self-esteem and confidence.
  • Listen to their concerns and needs, building trust and a positive relationship.
  • Provide day-to-day support, including educational and social activities and trips.
  • Transporting young people to contact, meetings, school and appointments.
  • Support with meal preparation.

What We're Looking for:

  • Passion and Commitment: You have a genuine desire to support young people in care and their families.
  • Resilience: The ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations.
  • Experience: Previous experience with challenging behaviour is a plus but not essential. Full training is provided.
  • Team Player: Strong communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to obtain) is preferred.
  • Flexibility: Available to work various shifts, including weekends and nights.
  • Eligibility: Full UK Driving Licence (required), Vehicle Business Insurance, Clear DBS (preferably on the update system), Full Right To Work Status (UK)
