We specialise in supporting vulnerable young people who may have experienced trauma and may present challenging behaviours. Our team is committed to providing compassionate, structured, and personalised support that empowers young people and their families to thrive, develop, and build positive futures.
Job Role:
As a Support Worker, you will work directly with children/young people and their families, helping them through daily activities, providing emotional support, and implementing individual care plans. You will be part of a supportive team, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, fostering trust and respect, and managing challenging behaviours with empathy and understanding.
Role and Responsibilities Include:
- Providing day-to-day support, including assisting with routines and engaging in recreational activities.
- Building trust-based relationships with young people, serving as a positive role model.
- Managing challenging behaviours calmly and effectively, using de-escalation techniques
- Collaborating with other team members and professionals to create supportive care plans
- Maintaining a safe, stable, and positive living environment
- Documenting and reporting incidents and progress accurately
- Provide consistent emotional support to help young people cope with any trauma, loss or behavioural challenges.
- Ensuring the safety of young people at all times.
- Help young people and their families develop healthy coping mechanisms, self-esteem and confidence.
- Listen to their concerns and needs, building trust and a positive relationship.
- Provide day-to-day support, including educational and social activities and trips.
- Transporting young people to contact, meetings, school and appointments.
- Support with meal preparation.
What We're Looking for:
- Passion and Commitment: You have a genuine desire to support young people in care and their families.
- Resilience: The ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations.
- Experience: Previous experience with challenging behaviour is a plus but not essential. Full training is provided.
- Team Player: Strong communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively.
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to obtain) is preferred.
- Flexibility: Available to work various shifts, including weekends and nights.
- Eligibility: Full UK Driving Licence (required), Vehicle Business Insurance, Clear DBS (preferably on the update system), Full Right To Work Status (UK)
