Clinical Trials Specialist Pharmacist

University College London Hospitals undertakes world-class research across many specialities including cancer, neurology, stroke, rheumatology, and early phase medicine. In this role you will be a key part of facilitating this research. You will lead a sub team of pharmacists to provide a high-quality clinical trial service, thereby giving access to new, ground-breaking treatments to patients via study protocols.
The postholder will acquire experience of leadership, line management, finance, risk assessments, audit, and inspection. Applicants must be GPhC-registered pharmacists with at least 3 years' experience in an NHS hospital healthcare setting.
Prior experience of clinical trials is desirable. The post holder will be well supported by the Principal Pharmacist R&D and the senior team.

The postholder is a member of the senior pharmacy research team and supports the Principal Pharmacist R&D to provide a high-quality consistent service. They will lead on risk reviews for the UCLH Joint Research Office (known as 'Assess, Arrange and Confirm' or AAC) and work closely with senior technical staff to setup new trials. They will lead on collating and establishing trends in any dispensing errors/deviations on the Trusts' digital database (Datix), reviewing and implementing new or amended SOPs, and leading the process of audit from external regulators and sponsors. The postholder will provide senior support to clinical trial coordinators, nursing and clinic/day unit staff and representatives from the pharmaceutical industry to ensure the smooth running of all clinical trials requiring pharmaceutical services. The post holder will also line manage pharmacists who rotate through clinical trials.
