This is an exciting opportunity to join our Commercial FP&A Finance team, working on the consolidation of Retail performance, and communicating results and trends to key stakeholders including the COO of Boots. A key part of the role will be taking responsibility for the consolidation of retail results and supporting on key planning cycles, such as the 3YP, budget and forecasting for the largest part of the business.

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Manager to bring insight, challenge and commercial acumen to the role. You will also be expected to manage central costs (MBU) for Boots UK Retail. You will report directly into the Head of Finance, Commercial FP&A where you will play a pivotal role in setting the future financial strategy for Boots UK retail. Although there are no direct reports in this role, we work closely as a team of 5 and support for juniors and collaboration is expected.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the consolidation of results for retail, managing the communication of key reporting periods such as month end process, central and executive monthly business reviews
• Manage the reporting of month end process to group FP&A and managing working day performance tracking
• Managing reporting of central MBU expenses, across all planning and month end cycles
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and their teams
• Capable of presenting performance to COO and CCLT as required
• Working with our FP&A and Financial Control teams to ensure rigorous and robust financial planning processes (in year performance, budget, 3YP) across the Business
• Responsibility for influencing the business to ensure strong governance/adherence to our control environment
• Bring insight, challenge and influences across areas of responsibility including key business decisions bringing a wider business/market perspective
• Support the 3YP, forecast and budget process from a central perspective from setting targets to reporting
• Engaging with finance business partners across Beauty, General Merchandise, Healthcare and and Commercial, ensuring understanding, ownership and alignment of monthly results, financial forecasts, budgets and 3YP
• Supporting on finance transformation workstreams impacting Commercial Finance.

What you'll need to have

• Qualified accountant/ qualified by experience (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Excellent relationship-building in order to inspire, effect change and drive successful processes and performance
• Attention to detail
• Experienced and established Finance Manager
• Good team player, eager to support others with a strong desire for learning and development
