Category Buyer

This role will take ownership of indirect procurement activities across multiple European locations, driving value and efficiency across a diverse spend portfolio. Working closely with senior procurement leadership, you'll play a key role in delivering cost savings, developing supplier strategies, and embedding best practice across the function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead savings and value-creation initiatives across all indirect procurement categories, identifying opportunities to optimise costs and performance.
• Manage end-to-end sourcing processes, from supplier identification and tendering through to negotiation and contract implementation.
• Develop and present commercial proposals and contracting solutions for senior stakeholder approval.
• Build strong supplier relationships, ensuring alignment to business goals and consistent delivery of service and quality standards.
• Monitor market trends and innovations to identify new opportunities and embed forward-thinking procurement approaches.
• Create and deliver a multi-year category strategy that supports cost efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence.
• Conduct regular supplier reviews and performance assessments, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and continuous improvement.
• Partner with global procurement counterparts to ensure alignment of strategy and best practice across regions.

Key Requirements:

• Fluent in English with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ideally CIPS qualified (or working towards), with strong commercial and contractual acumen.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in indirect procurement, with exposure to categories such as
  Marketing, IT, HR, Professional Services, MRO, and Logistics.
• Proven track record in negotiation and supplier management, with demonstrable delivery of cost savings and service improvements.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to think long-term, influence at senior levels, and adapt to a fast-paced international environment.
