iSQ Recruitment is seeking a skilled and proactive
Electrical Engineer
/
Electrician
to join a long-established food manufacturing site in Suffolk (non-meat). Working alongside a small and supportive team, you'll take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and small project delivery.

This is a hands-on, site-based role supporting a busy production environment where reliability, precision, and safety are key. You'll play an integral part in maintaining and improving a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment that keep the site operating efficiently.

  • Please note this client does not offer Visa sponsorship, only candidates with full Right to Work in the UK, a full UK driving license / own vehicle, and relevant experience will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical servicing, repairs, and maintenance across a diverse range of plant and equipment.
  • Conduct fault finding, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance tasks to minimise breakdowns.
  • Work confidently with electrical drawings, schematics, and symbols.
  • Support and manage small-scale electrical projects from design through to installation and commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical and safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and implement improvements.

About You:
You'll be an experienced Electrical Engineer or Industrial Electrician with:

  • A recognised electrical apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
  • Strong fault-finding and analytical skills with a logical approach to problem solving.
  • Experience working with PLCs, VSDs, soft starts, sensors, weighing equipment, and general process control systems.
  • A solid understanding of preventative maintenance practices and production plant operations.
  • The ability to work independently and manage small-scale improvement projects.
  • Flexibility to be on call every other week.
  • Full UK driving license & access to own car.
  • Full Right to Work in the UK.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with Mitsubishi or Siemens PLCs and software.
  • A multi-skilled background with mechanical or pneumatics knowledge.
  • Inspection and testing qualifications (2391 or equivalent).
  • Previous experience maintaining machinery in a food or process manufacturing environment.
