AtkinsRéalis Transportation Project Delivery Practice (PDP) is the centre of excellence for the delivery of major transportation infrastructure projects and combines the best in project management and design management to provide a full suite of services to clients in the public and private sectors. The team is responsible for delivery of design services across our markets of Rail and Transit, Highways, Local Transport, and lean out into other sectors including Defence and Nuclear. We have a wide client base including HS2, National Highways, Network Rail, Irish Rail, Local Authorities, as well as several Principal Contractors.This is an exciting opportunity within the PDP Rail and Transit team for an experienced Senior Project Manager looking to lead the successful delivery of our projects, influence the growth and development of the project management team and progress into a Project Director role. UK based and willing to travel 2-3 days per week across UK and Ireland to be involved in some of our most exciting flagship projects.Your RoleDelivery and LeadershipProvide project leadership either as a Senior Project Manager on large projects or as a Project Director on medium to small projects.Ensuring these projects meet business revenue, profit and cash-flow expectations and provide accurate reporting.Lead the delivery team which could comprise of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, and Design Managers.Work with resource managers to undertake forward planning to ensure there is adequate capacity to meet requirements.Coordinate a common understanding of scope, programme, costs, constraints, risk and interfaces on your projects.Governance and CommercialEnsure compliance with Client, Business Management, Governance, Technical, HSE and Quality requirements.Ensure project management and contract administration through the project life cycle.Community and DevelopmentSupport the Project Management community to share best practice and learnings and help to ensure a consistent approach to delivery.Mentor and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and other team members, as required.ClientDevelop and maintain client relationships to support project delivery performance and maximise potential for project extensions and new work.Support Regional Client Directors to shape and deliver Transportation Rail strategy for the region.Provide bid leadership on selective pursuits, either as Bid Manager for large projects or as a Bid Director for medium to small projects. Particular focus on ensuring the deliverability of the tendered works.About youSignificant experience of Project Manager roles on large scale multidisciplinary UK infrastructure projects (>£5M design fees per annum) from a design perspective.Experience of managing construction programmes and/or project management in the rail sector (eg. with Network Rail and/or HS2 and Principal Contractors).Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with clients so that AtkinsRéalis' commercial objectives are protected and met.Good understanding of design procedures, change control, checking and review requirements.Understand and has experience in deploying various forms of construction contract, in particular NEC3 or 4 and/or bespoke forms of contract.Professional membership and recognised level of Project Management competence (eg.
