What you'll be doing:
As part of the Grounds Maintenance team at Slough Borough Council, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the borough's parks, gardens, open spaces and roadside landscapes. You'll also take responsibility for leading a crew of up to three staff, helping to deliver high-quality results across our green spaces.
Slough Borough Council is committed to training, development and internal progression. We actively encourage our team members to build their skills and gain additional horticultural and machinery qualifications, including ride-on mower operation, PA1/PA6, chainsaw use, tractor driving, trailer towing and more.
With arborist duties, you'll carry out a wide range of specialist tree work such as felling, pruning, trimming, stump grinding and removal—always ensuring safety, professionalism and full compliance with industry standards. With ongoing learning and support, you'll also have opportunities to progress into Skilled Operative or Supervisor roles as you grow within the team.

Annual increments, where applicable, are usually payable on 1st April each year, subject to six months' service in the post, until the maximum spinal column point of the level has been reached. The payment of annual increments is not automatic and is subject to satisfactory performance as assessed by your director.
