We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a Healthcare Assistant in our busy dialysis unit.

This role involves much more than patient care – you'll help keep the unit running smoothly by managing stock and supplies, supporting housekeeping tasks, and preparing the clinical area ready for patients attending their dialysis treatment.

This is a hands-on, rewarding role in a fast-paced environment. Whether you have previous experience or new to healthcare, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed

Location:
Cardiff North Dialysis Unit, Unit C3 Avenue Industrial Estate, Croescadarn Close, Pentwyn, CF23 8HE. Free parking available on site.

Working hours
: This is a part-time position (23 hours per week) Monday to Saturday on a rolling rota.
No Sunday or night shifts
11.5 hour shifts; 06:45 – 18:15.

The salary for the role is £15,230.90 per annum.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Provide general assistance to nursing staff with patient care in the treatment room.
  • Liaise with transport and other departments in order to arrange appointments.
  • Support the unit routine, by escorting patients to the wards, blood specimens and pharmacy errands.
  • Monitor and record patients' weights pre and post dialysis.
  • Prepare and serve patients with refreshments.
  • Preparation of the clinical area.
  • Maintain stocks and supplies within the treatment areas.
  • Undertake housekeeping duties.

  • Able to demonstrate empathy and sympathy.
  • Be detail focused with the ability to meet daily deadlines.
  • Flexible to cover the needs of the patients/unit.
