Management Accountant

Location: Liverpool (Office-Based)
Salary: Competitive, with benefits

We are seeking a qualified Management Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) to join our growing team in Liverpool. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in management accounting, ideally gained within a claims management, insurance, or financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including variance analysisMonitor key financial metrics and provide insights on business performanceAssist in preparing annual budgets and forecastsConduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-makingOversee the design and implementation of controls for handling client money

Cost & Revenue Management

Monitor claims-related costs, ensuring accurate allocation and controlWork closely with operational teams to optimise claims processing costsEnsure accurate revenue recognition in line with regulations and company policies

Cash Flow & Financial Control

Maintain cash flow forecasts and ensure compliance with third-party funding arrangementsMonitor working capitalOversee reconciliation of claims payments and client accountsEnsure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and accounting standards

Stakeholder & Compliance Management

Liaise with auditors, regulatory bodies, and tax authorities as neededSupport senior management with financial insights and recommendationsEnsure compliance with FCA regulations (if applicable) and financial best practicesProvide information to the payroll company as required

Required Skills & Experience

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Experience in management accounting, ideally within claims management, insurance, or financial servicesStrong financial reporting and analytical skillsProficient in accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, SAP) and ExcelKnowledge of regulatory compliance in the claims or insurance sector is advantageousExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills
