Qualified Bank Dental Nurse (Zero-Hour Contract) – The Dental Wellness Centre, Coalville

At The Dental Wellness Centre, we are dedicated to providing patients with the highest standard of dental care using advanced techniques and technology. Our expanding practice offers a wide range of treatments including general dentistry, implants, oral surgery, paediatric dentistry, Invisalign, cosmetic dentistry, facial aesthetics, IV sedation and more.

We are now looking for an experienced and fully qualified Dental Nurse to join our friendly team on a bank (zero-hour) basis, supporting our out-of-hours emergency dental service. This role offers excellent flexibility and the opportunity to work within a professional, patient-focused environment.

Role Overview

This position is open only to qualified, GDC-registered Dental Nurses. You will be part of our emergency dental care team, providing clinical and administrative support during evening and weekend sessions.

Shifts may be offered regularly or ad hoc, depending on both your availability and the practice's requirements.

Available hours (Coalville site):

  • Monday – Friday: 5:00pm –8:30pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 11:45am – 3.30pm

This role is ideal for qualified nurses seeking flexible work, extra hours, or the chance to gain experience in emergency dental care.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a qualified and GDC-registered Dental Nurse who is:

  • Professional, reliable, and confident working in an emergency care setting.
  • Compassionate and reassuring with patients who may be anxious or in pain.
  • Organised, efficient, and proactive in managing clinical workflow.
  • A team player who communicates clearly with clinicians and colleagues.
  • Competent in maintaining high standards of cross-infection control and record-keeping.
  • Comfortable using computers and modern dental software.

Experience in urgent or emergency dental services is beneficial but not essential — full training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside assistance to clinicians during emergency dental treatments.
  • Maintain strict infection prevention and control procedures (HTM 01-05 compliance).
  • Prepare and decontaminate instruments and surgery areas efficiently.
  • Support patient triage, appointment flow, and record management.
  • Deliver excellent patient care with professionalism and empathy.
