Freight Broker
About us
SAMJAKE Logistics runs a modern logistics OS that automates quotes, bookings, documentation and tracking for road freight between the UK and Europe. We work with a curated network of small hauliers and SME shippers. Our automated system takes care of the admin so you can concentrate on customers, carriers and margin.
The role
We're looking for an independent Freight Broker who wants to build – or grow – their own book of business with a very high share of the profit.
What you'll do
- Find and develop your own portfolio of shippers in the UK (importers, exporters, manufacturers, wholesalers, forwarders).
- Negotiate rates with carriers (from our network or your own), structure profitable deals and prepare quotes.
- Use our automated platform to manage bookings, transport documents and tracking from pickup to delivery.
- Proactively monitor shipments, solve issues and keep customers informed.
- Work closely with our team when needed, but remain the main point of contact for your customers.
What we offer
- Commission-only model with a very high share of the margin. There is no fixed salary.
- 50% of the gross margin on all loads you broker each month.
- 60% of the gross margin on the part of your monthly gross margin above £10,000.
- Access to our automated freight management system, carrier network and back-office support (invoicing, documentation, credit control).
- Freedom to work from anywhere in the UK and organise your own schedule.
Example (for illustration only):
If in one month your loads generate £12,000 gross margin:
- On the first £10,000 margin → 50% = £5,000
- On the remaining £2,000 margin → 60% = £1,200
- Total commission: £6,200 for that month.
Who you are
- 2+ years' experience as freight broker / freight forwarder / road freight operator, ideally on UK–EU lanes.
- Comfortable negotiating rates and managing the full life-cycle of a shipment.
- Already have, or want to build, your own base of loyal customers.
- Prefer high-percentage commission instead of a fixed salary and want to be rewarded directly for the margin you create.
How to apply
Send your CV (or short profile) and a few lines explaining:
- your experience in freight brokerage / forwarding,
- what monthly margin you have handled so far,
- why a 50–60% margin share model is attractive to you,
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Freelance
Pay: £35,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
