Are you ready to launch your career in payroll with a respected and supportive firm? Lentells Ltd is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Payroll Apprentice to join our dynamic payroll team. Role Overview
As a Payroll Apprentice, your primary responsibility will be to process client payrolls accurately and on time. You'll play a key role in supporting our clients and ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations, all while learning from a team of experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payrolls based on client instructions
- Communicate with clients via phone, email, or in person to resolve payroll queries
- Submit Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC promptly
- Collaborate with senior payroll staff to check and finalise payrolls before deadlines
- Undertake on-the-job training with our preferred training provider
- Support with general payroll admin and ad-hoc tasks as needed
Additional Opportunities (as applicable)
- NHS Pensions: process GP1s, starters/leavers, and submit SD55AU forms
- Prepare and send payroll input sheets
- Submit BACS payments
- Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients
- Process and submit CIS returns
- Set up new clients and close PAYE schemes
- Assist with client onboarding
What We're Looking For
- A genuine interest in payroll, finance, or business administration
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Good communication and a willingness to learn
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)
- A positive, can-do attitude and a team player mindset
