At Redgate, we build ingeniously simple tools for the world's most complex data environments. Behind the scenes, our Infrastructure Team keeps everything running smoothly — from cloud platforms to on-prem hardware, networks, and unified comms.

Now we're looking for an Infrastructure Engineer who's passionate about automation, reliability, and solving real-world problems with elegant technical solutions.

Your Work at Redgate Software:

o Work primarily in Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tools, fully automating systems where possible

o Ensure that Redgate's infrastructure is reliable, scalable, secure by design and meets Redgate's operational requirements. Optimising infrastructure for cost, performance, and security

o Collaborate with team members and the wider business to improve cloud management and deployment plans, providing training and support to ensure operating environments are reliable and secure

o Continuously improve management of our on prem and cloud environments, using scripts and automation where possible

o Maintain and administer Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, ADFS and Office 365 platforms

o Own and manage Redgate's local networks, WiFi, switches, firewalls and internet connections

o Build, maintain and update Redgate's on-prem and cloud servers and network infrastructure

o Configure, monitor and test backups to ensure reliable recovery of data when needed

o Ensure infrastructure is fault tolerant, highly available and redundant

o Manage and troubleshoot the Unified Comms systems

o Improve monitoring and observability by adopting common tools and help provide deep insights into the health of services such as availability, latency and capacity

o Liaise with external suppliers and their support teams

o Work under the guidance of the Security Manager in safeguarding Redgate against Cyber Security threats by identifying and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities

o Act as an escalation point for the Service Desk Team

o Make the right value decision when it comes to building or buying services, and choosing between physical infrastructure and SaaS/PaaS/IaaS

o Identify, articulate and help solve technical problems around the business

o Perform such other tasks as are consistent with the general description and in support of the Infrastructure Manager and Head of Technical Operations

What You Bring to the Table:

Proven experience of:

o Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tools (Terraform and Puppet)

o Managing and using CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions and/or TeamCity desirable)

o Design, deploy and manage cloud computing platforms (AWS or Azure)

o Microsoft Windows stack

o Provisioning, securing and maintaining Linux environments

o Virtualisation technologies (VMware vCenter and ESXi desirable)

o Scripting (PowerShell desirable)

o Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle or similar database technologies

o Managing infrastructure monitoring platforms (Icinga desirable)

o Major/minor incident response methodologies

o Backup and high availability technologies

Desired but not essential:

o SAN storage appliances and how to build and manage redundant storage arrays

o Managing, securing and maintaining local networks, WiFi, switches, firewalls and internet connections

o Project tracking software (GitHub Issues desirable)

o Device management and troubleshooting (Microsoft SCCM, Autopilot and Intune)

o Administrating cloud-based UC systems (Zoom including Phone desirable)

Salary:

  • £55,000 - £70,000 dependent upon experience
