We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the National Police Freedom of Information & Data Protection Unit (NPFDU) as a FOI Referral Officer and Trainer.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a national policing unit, supporting police forces across the UK with FOI requests and the development and delivery of FOI training to shape FOI best practice across policing.

The NPFDU manage and coordinate national FOI activity, and act as the central conduit for advice and guidance across UK forces. The Unit is hosted by Hampshire Constabulary and operates within the ACRO Criminal Records Office, another national unit.

Please note this role will require police vetting, which is currently attracting up to a 15 week waiting period. While we will do everything we can to onboard you as quickly as possible, please keep this timeframe in mind when applying for this vacancy.

Essential Qualifications
  • Educated to Level 3 with a nationally recognised Learning and Development qualification e.g. Learning & Development QCF Level 3 (30 Credits min)
  • Alternatively, an apprenticeship route is available to achieve a formal training qualification.
Essential Experience
  • Significant experience of working within a multi-functional organisation and able to demonstrate current competence in subject matter area.
  • Experience of conducting research and applying legal principles using a variety of sources.
  • Experience in training needs analysis, design, delivery, assessment and evaluation of training.
  • Experience of innovative and creative approaches to problem solving
  • Experience in communicating complex issues to a variety of stakeholders and producing written reports
  • Experience in working independently and possessing good time management skills
