Senior Infrastructure Engineer

You'll be part of our Prisma Data Platform team which is responsible for Accelerate, Prisma Postgres and the bare metal cloud that those products are built on.
To give you a clear idea of what the job could entail, here are some examples of the work we've done lately or will start soon:
- Choose and deploy a globally distributed configuration store (like etcd, rqlite) for encrypted authentication to enable global routing for Prisma Postgres.
- Improve automation of our servers with the goal of reducing maintenance overhead and provisioning times.
- Configure, deploy, monitor, and debug a cutting-edge containerization platform that drives both internal and external tooling and services.
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation to help ensure reliability of our systems, with an emphasis on fair scheduling, strong tooling, and a culture that values work-life balance.
- 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering, operating large-scale systems with a focus on Linux, networking, and cloud environments.
- Experience building and scaling resilient distributed systems across bare metal and cloud platforms (AWS, Cloudflare); strong understanding of systems architecture and reliability patterns.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or similar) and automation practices to manage reproducible, scalable environments.
- High standards for quality, ensuring excellence while balancing pragmatism, purpose, and a strong sense of agency - taking ownership, making thoughtful trade-offs, and driving meaningful impact.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Be able to articulate complex ideas clearly, adapt messaging to different audiences, give and receive constructive feedback effectively, and foster collaboration across teams.
- Deep expertise in Linux server administration and networking, including provisioning, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and hardening aligned to security best practices. Fluency in Bash and Debian. Kernel-level debugging is advantageous.
- Strengthen and scale a mature security posture across Cloud environments, IAM and secrets management, secure networking and zero trust access controls, CI/CD and dependency hygiene, API and application security best practices, and maintain audit readiness.
- You think critically and communicate your reasoning clearly. You articulate your thoughts in a systematic way, plan effectively, anticipate challenges, and ensure smooth execution while keeping stakeholders aligned.
- Advantageous: Hands-on programming experience in Go, Python, or other scripting languages, with an inclination to build tools and automation that improve developer and operator experience.
You're likely to be a great fit for the team if you ...
- ... have an ownership mindset. As a Senior Engineer, you'll have an outsized impact on decisions and the way things are executed.
- ... stay nimble. It's a startup, things change, and you are ok with that. Be ready to re-calibrate often and stay flexible.
- ... be kind and collaborative. Come in ready to share your ideas and listen to feedback.
We put our people first. Strong pay, full flexibility, and benefits that make a difference. Take the time off that you need, grow your career, and do work that matters.
- An opportunity to shape Prisma's cutting-edge cloud products, driving innovation in modern database tooling and redefining how developers build and scale applications.
- A Fun and Supportive Team that values collaboration, growth, and continuous learning.
- Competitive Base Salary and Stock Options, including extended post-termination exercise windows.
- Fully Remote Work with flexibility to work from anywhere within our required time zones. If you prefer an office environment, we provide access to a local co-working space for up to ten days per month.
- Generous Time Off, including twenty-four days of paid vacation and paid sick leave.
- Parental Benefits, including twenty weeks of fully paid parental leave and child sick leave.
- Sabbatical Leave, with six weeks of fully paid time off after three years of continuous employment.
- Mental Health Support, including four fully paid Mental Health Days per year and access to professional resources.
- Tech and Ergonomic Budget to equip you with the tools you need.
- Annual Offsites, bringing the team together twice a year with all expenses paid retreats at exciting locations.
- Relocation Support, offering a relocation package for team members moving to Berlin after twelve months, if you choose to relocate.
- [US] Health and Pension Benefits, including comprehensive health, dental, vision, and 401k matching.
To ensure effective collaboration we can currently only accept candidates within the timezone GMT -2 to GMT +3 for this position.
