Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is seeking to recruit a Cemetery Team Leader.

In addition to undertaking general grounds maintenance and grave digging operations at Worting Road Cemetery, as a Team Leader you will be responsible for managing operatives who are based at the Cemetery and ensuring compliance with cemetery regulations, to include safe practices for the excavation of graves.

You will also be required to provide cover and assistance for the Cemetery Manager and act as a point of contact for cemetery visitors.

Ideally you will have previous experience and good knowledge of cemetery services, however there are excellent training opportunities available for the right candidate, and the Council is committed to supporting continuous personal development.

A full clean driving license is required for this role, along with the skills and ability to communicate at different levels to ensure services are delivered effectively, efficiently and within budget.

As a highly motivated and reliable individual, with a 'can do' attitude, you will need to be well-organised and able to take direction whilst having a proactive and flexible approach to work.
