VestGuard UK Ltd, an innovator in military and police body armour manufacturing, we are currently looking for production assistants with sewing machinists experience to join our team. You'll be working alongside our design and research production departments at our Colchester facility. Various skills will be needed and a can-do attitude is required. Candidates should have previous experience of sewing.

Duties:

Using drawings, templates, work instructions and/or samples to sew previously cut parts to make finished covers for specialist ballistic protection.

Carry out any reworks required

General housekeeping of machines such as sewing machine/overlocker. Ensuring they are kept in a clean and regularly oiled condition. Reporting any faults to the Team Leader at the earliest opportunity.

Work within guidelines/instructions to ensure traceability is maintained in accordance with established quality processes.

Offering ideas, recommendations and remedies to design or manufacturing challenges.

Other tasks were reasonable and relevant.

Experience:

12 months of experience of using an sewing machine is essential

Overlocking experience is desirable

Must have a good understanding of how garments are constructed
