Primary School Cover Supervisor

A Primary School in Berkeley is currently looking for a Cover Supervisor to join them on an ADHOC basis. The school would ideally like someone to join them as soon as possible, for a full time opportunity that runs from Monday to Friday between the hours of The school consistently needs some support in a various classes across KS1 and KS2. You would go teach whatever class needs the support, and cover work would always be left for you by the Class Teacher.

The school is looking for someone flexible and willing to adapt to various classes. You must be completely confident in Teaching across KS1 and KS2. You must also be intuitive as you will be coming in and taking on a pre planned lesson so need to be able to do so with ease. Teaching qualifications are not necessarily essential but we do ideally need someone who has vast amounts of experience working in schools. Having a qualification such as a TEFL, for example, would be beneficial.

What will you need to do on a daily basis?

  • Active supervision of work, giving students clear instructions to remain on task and responding to any queries
  • Communicate effectively with students to keep them engaged in cover lessons
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies, promoting positive behaviour
  • Display effective organisational and time management skills and the ability to be highly flexible in a busy school environment
  • Display good Literacy, Numeracy and communication skills to support and include all students
